Silverthorne is an Adult Day Program that has cared for seniors in the area for over 12 years. Silverthorne is located on the campus of Salemhaven Nursing Home. The day program offers high quality, compassionate care to those in need of medical monitoring and/or socialization in a home-like, safe environment.

Silverthorne holds as its goals to enable each participant to maintain their independence and be active within their own home and community. The staff includes a social worker, nurse, activity director and aide. Hot, nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks are served daily. Service is covered by Medicaid, VA contract and private pay.

What is Adult Day Health?
It's a place to go for adults who can't stay home by themselves during the day while their families go to work, run errands, or take a break. The participants come in the morning and go home in the afternoon. A trained staff provides safety, health care, personal care and meaningful activities.

What it's not.
It is not a nursing home, which takes the person out of the home and community. It is not in-home care, which leaves the person isolated.

Operation:
We are open Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. The medical day program operates from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Half days are also available.

Transportation:
Van/Mini-Bus is provided at an additional cost on a space available basis for participants living within a 15 mile driving distance of the center.
