Board of Directors

Kevin Breen is a current member of the Board of Directors of Salemhaven, Inc.  Kevin serves as Fire Chief for the City of Marlborough, Massachusetts.  Chief Breen has been a firefighter for over thirty years, beginning here in Salem, NH, in 1986.  While at Salem Fire Department, he rose through the ranks, eventually being promoted to Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director, positions he held for nearly ten years.  Kevin received a BA in Liberal Arts, graduating summa cum laude and then earned a Master of Science degree in Management both from Merrimack College.  He has held numerous certifications as a certified firefighter, fire officer, fire instructor, environmental trainer, hazardous materials technician and advanced EMT and has completed numerous resident courses at the National Fire Academy.  He is a graduate of the Greater Salem Leadership program and has previously volunteered to serve on the Board of Trustees at Parkland Medical Center.  Kevin and his wife Martha raised their four children here in Salem, where they still reside. 

Greg Brown is the current Secretary of the Board of Directors of Salemhaven, Inc.  Greg graduated from Bentley University with a B.S. in Accountancy and the Boston College Carrol School of Management with an M.S. in Accountancy. Greg is a fully licensed CPA in Massachusetts and a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Greg is the Managing Partner at Bookkeeping and Business Service (BBS) in Methuen, MA. Prior to his time at BBS, Greg worked in the PricewaterhouseCoopers Health Industries Group, working on financial statement audits and quarterly reviews for large publicly traded corporations, healthcare provider systems, and privately held biotechnology companies. In his spare time, Greg enjoys golfing during the warmer months and skiing during the winter.

Phil Cammarata is the past President and current member of the Board of Directors.

Michael  J. Carney Jr. is a past President and current member of the Board of Directors. Michael is a principal with the Darling Consulting Group (DCG).  Working with a broad range of clients, he provides advisory services in the areas of asset-liability management, strategic planning, budgeting and capital management. Michael has written and spoken for trade associations/publications on such topics as balance sheet management, selecting asset-liability management software and preparing for regulatory exams. Working at DCG since 1983, he has installed and supported modeling systems for more than 300 financial institutions, and he formerly directed DCG’s financial analysis staff, overseeing the preparation of balance sheet models, reports and analyses for banks, thrifts and credit unions. Michael has been involved with a number of community groups. He has served as Vice-Chairman of the Merrimack Valley United Way’s Fund allocation committee, Treasurer of Salem Youth Soccer and a volunteer for Salem Youth Baseball. He is a past chairman of the Salem Municipal Budget Committee and is presently a member of the Salem School Board. Michael is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, and he currently resides in Salem, NH.

Michael Collins is the current Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Salemhaven, Inc. Mr. Collins is the President and owner of a design/build company called The Collins Company. Mike is a past President and a 27-year member of the Board of Directors for the Salem Boys and Girls Club. He currently resides in North Salem, NH, with his wife and two children.                                                                                                                                                    

Donna Harris is a current member of the Board of Directors of Salemhaven, Inc. She has led the Human Resources and Finance operations at Darling Consulting Group for over 35 years. As the HR Officer, she is responsible for talent acquisition and development as well as compensation and benefits. More importantly, Donna sets the tone around the company's values and culture. Taking a personal interest in the success of every team member, she keeps individual career goals top of mind while ensuring all teammates truly become a part of the DCG family. Donna also oversees the finance functions at DCG, which include budgeting, planning, financial reporting, accounts receivable/payable, and audit. She lives in Salem, NH, with her husband and three sons. Donna enjoys continuing education, working out, and spending time with her family, including her dog, Theodore. She is a Southern New Hampshire University graduate with a BS in Business Administration.

Frank Monteiro, P.E. is a current member of the Board of Directors of Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He is the past President of the Board of Directors and the past Vice President of Silverthorne. Mr. Monteiro is the President/Owner of MHF Design Consultants, Inc.  Mr. Monteiro is a Professional Civil Engineer and is the President/Owner of a Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Firm in Salem, New Hampshire. He graduated from Salem High School and the University of New Hampshire. He currently resides in Salem, NH.

Jamie Santo is a current member of the Board of Directors.

Richard P. Shahtanian is a current member of the Board of Directors.  Rich grew up in Salem, New Hampshire and attended Salem schools through the eighth grade. He attended high school in Portland, Maine at Cheverus High School. Thereafter, he attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated with a Business Administration degree from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics in 1991. Rich then attended the Massachusetts School of Law and graduated in 1995 with a Juris Doctor degree. Rich has worked in the legal profession since 1992 and has been a licensed attorney since 1995. He has operated his general practice law firm in Salem which he founded in 1995 and since that time he has represented hundreds of individuals, businesses and trusts throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, New Hampshire Bar Association, and the New Hampshire Association for Justice. In addition, as of August 2023, he joined Legacy Care Law Firm in Salem as “Of Counsel” to the firm. Presently, Rich focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, business law, and providing litigation support.  When he isn’t working, Rich enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering in various positions at his church in North Andover, Massachusetts, where he serves as a member of its Board of Trustees, former Chairman of its Building Committee, and as an advisor to its Investment Committee.
