Management Team

Raymond Milliard, Administrator
Ray Milliard has been the administrator of Salemhaven since April 2003. He has been a licensed administrator since 1996 holding licenses in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Ray is an employee of Covenant Health Systems, a non- profit faith based company serving greater northern New England. Covenant manages Salemhaven at the pleasure of Salemhaven’s Board of Trustees.

Ray has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of South Florida, is certified in Alzheimer’s care, and served honorably as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.

Johanna Ferguson, RN, Director of Nursing Services
Johanna graduated from New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1971 and worked in long term care since 1972. She is married and has two grown children and lives in Boxford, Massachusetts. Johanna has always enjoyed working with geriatric patients and makes a real difference in their lives. In 1986, Johanna took her first Director of Nursing position.

Johanna has been the Director of Nursing since June of 2001. Johanna felt she found her niche. She is proud to be a member of Salemhaven’s exceptional team of caregivers.

Pamela M. Rutzen, MSW, Director of Social Services
Pamela Rutzen has been the Director of Social Services since March 2008. Pamela’s role at Salemhaven is to address any emotional or social factors relating to the resident and their current situation. She is available to identify and handle any issues that may arise during the length of stay at Salemhaven for both the resident as well as their family members. Pamela’s focus is on the psychosocial wellbeing of the resident to ensure their time with us at Salemhaven is enjoyable. Pamela is available for meetings with residents and family members to discuss any concerns.

Pamela graduated from Framingham State College with her Bachelors Degree and went on to Boston University to obtain her Masters Degree in Social Work. Pamela has been working with the geriatric population for 7 years including home care and now long term care.

Sharon M. Bailey, MSW, Director of Admissions
Sharon has been a member of the management team at Salemhaven since 2008. She has worked as a manager in healthcare for almost 15 years in various settings such as; Rehab, Long Term Care, Homecare and Hospice. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Boston College in Geriatric Social Work.

Her role is to evaluate potential patients in the hospital and work with the team to transition into the skilled care setting. She also does home visits to work with seniors in the community interested in education and placement. Sharon is available for support and advice for future planning of your loved one. Emily Nutter, Activity Department Director
NCCAP Certified Activities Director Emily and her family came to New Hampshire after 10 years with the U.S.A.F. She has been on staff at Salemhaven since 1989 and became the Activity Director in 2003. Emily adds that our lives are truly enriched by the people we have met through churches, schools, community organizations and, our extended family
here at Salemhaven.

Chef Gary Madigan, Dietary Department
The Salemhaven Dietary Department's mission is to provide and cater to its residents by creating a positive dining experience. We are committed to professionally preparing and serving nutritious home-style meals each day. As part of this commitment, we must incorporate and adhere to special therapeutic diets, textures and tastes as well as special requests from residents and family members. In addition to these duties, Dietary participates and sponsors many community events and lends its services wherever a positive influence can be made. We in Food Service are proud to contribute to a team of dedicated individuals that strive for total resident and family satisfaction.

Dennis Giangregorio, Director of Environmental Services
As Environmental Services Director, we have the honor of maintaining a safe and clean environment for all of our residents, staff and visitors here at Salemhaven. In addition to providing a clean and safe facility, our job is to ensure the facility complies with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to healthcare facilities. Salemhaven remains the facility of choice among clients. Our residents are content and satisfied residents. Kellie Thomas PTA, Director of Rehabilitation Services
The Rehab Department at Salemhaven are contracted partners of People First. The Rehab Team is under supervision of Kellie Thomas. Kellie is a Physical Therapist Assistant  with 17 years experience. The department has a full complement of staff that encompasses Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. The rehab team has vast experience in treating individuals who require help to reach their maximum level of function whether it be for a Short Term stay or to help them to adjust to Long Term Care living.
 
Some of the services that are provided are diet consistency management, cognitive skills training, verbal expression and speech clarity, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), Home Management skills (cooking, cleaning, money management, etc), Balance and Endurance training, training with new assistive devices such as walkers or canes, stair training, overall strengthening and activities to integrate the individual back into the community.  We also have the ability to use modalities to augment our therapy services. These include estim and ultrasound. These are used on a case to case basis and have to meet certain criteria before administered. We also have Vital Stim with is an estim unit used in adjunct with Speech Therapy services.
 
Services are provided in our Rehab Gym, and are both individually and in groups to help give the individual a more rounded approach to their rehab. The amount of rehab given is based on each individual’s need but on average it is up to 5x/week. There is always the availability for therapy on the weekend and it  is based on individual needs.

Kathy Murray-Potvin, Business Office Manager
Kathy has been the Business Office Manager at Salemhaven since its opening in 1980. Her role involves all aspects of Accounts Receivable including Medicaid, Medicare and insurance billing. As Office Manager, she oversees a very capable staff whose responsibilities include Payroll, Accounts Payable and Reception. Kathy is available to assist residents & families with questions regarding NH Medicaid and other financial matters.
